Join Simon Fraser University’s President, Dr. Michael Stevenson and the Honourable Wally Oppal Attorney General & Minister Responsible for Multiculturalism (Government of British Columbia) in supporting and participating in an important cultural event celebrated across BC, India and around the world – Diwali.
Diwali, also know as the Festival of Lights, is of great significance in the Hindu and Sikh calendar for symbolizing victory, goodness, enlightenment and justice in the world, and is often associated with the lighting of lamps (dheva).
The Gala will showcase the best of Indian dance, music and cuisine and highlight SFU’s success and leadership role in forging collaborations with Indian institutions, organizations and the local Indo-Canadian community. With over 400 business and community leaders expected to be in attendance, this is an opportunity to meet with people interested in furthering BC-India relations.
Proceeds from the event will support new and existing programs which connect the community, SFU and British Columbia to India. For further event details and ticket purchases ($50 per person or table of 8 for $400), please contact:
