SSHRC announces four special one-time funding opportunities – Canadian Environmental Issues – Special Call.
Research partnerships and collaborations with researchers in the natural sciences, engineering and health are encouraged.
Objectives:
SSHRC invites applications on social sciences and humanities dimensions of the above mentioned priorities or others that are demonstrably a priority for Canada. These topics can be studied from a variety of approaches (e.g., action-research, ethical, historical, economic, recovery, restoration, policy, regulation, governance), and with respect to any sector and/or population group (e.g. forestry, fishing manufacturing, urban, rural and regional perspectives).
DEADLINES
Nov. 7 – Canadian Environmental Issues – Special Call Research Grants
To support inter-disciplinary research in the social sciences and humanities conducted by individuals or teams on Canadian environmental issues.
Value and Duration. Up to $100,000/yr, but not totaling more than $250,000 in a three-year period. Up to 3 years.
Nov. 17 – Canadian Environmental Issues – Special Call Public Outreach Grants
To engage targeted non-academic audiences and knowledge users in the exchange and application of available knowledge.
Value and Duration. No maximum limit. Up to 1 year.
Nov. 20 – Canadian Environmental Issues – Special Call Community-University Research Alliances, Letter of Intent
To support research projects on Canadian environmental issues jointly developed and undertaken by postsecondary institution-based researchers and organizations from the community.
Note: Research Services will hold a CURA general information workshop in late September. Additional information will be forthcoming.
Value and Duration. Up to $20,000. Up to 1 year
Nov. 26 – Canadian Environmental Issues – Special Call for inter-disciplinary proposal Research Development Initiatives Grants.
Eligible proposal must include participation by natural sciences, engineering and/or health researchers.
Value and Duration. Up to $80,000. Up to 1 year.
