University of the Fraser Valley Launches South Asia History Bibliography

The South Asia History Bibliography reflects the vast and complex history of the sub-continent of India, and the significance of the South Asian community to the development and history of BC. It is the result of a successful collaboration between UFV history faculty, librarians, and students.

The bibliography is divided roughly according to time period and includes the following sections:

  • Mughal India to c. 1757
  • Company Raj to c. 1857
  • British Raj to c. 1947
  • India post 1947
  • Pakistan/Bangladesh
  • Sri Lanka
  • Punjab pre 1947
  • Punjab post 1947
  • Indo-Canadian and South Asian Diaspora

Each section is divided into subsections including:

  • Political, Administrative, Military, Legal
  • Economic
  • Science, Medicine, Technology, Environment, Geography
  • Family, Gender, Social, Education
  • Culture

In turn the material from each subsection is listed as scholarly articles, monographs and anthologies, and printed primary and digital documents.
