February 18, 2009University of the Fraser Valley Launches South Asia History Bibliography
The South Asia History Bibliography reflects the vast and complex history of the sub-continent of India, and the significance of the South Asian community to the development and history of BC. It is the result of a successful collaboration between UFV history faculty, librarians, and students.
The bibliography is divided roughly according to time period and includes the following sections:
- Mughal India to c. 1757
- Company Raj to c. 1857
- British Raj to c. 1947
- India post 1947
- Pakistan/Bangladesh
- Sri Lanka
- Punjab pre 1947
- Punjab post 1947
- Indo-Canadian and South Asian Diaspora
Each section is divided into subsections including:
- Political, Administrative, Military, Legal
- Economic
- Science, Medicine, Technology, Environment, Geography
- Family, Gender, Social, Education
- Culture
In turn the material from each subsection is listed as scholarly articles, monographs and anthologies, and printed primary and digital documents.
