2011-2012 Competition
Shastri invites nominations for our Canadian Studies Visiting Lectureship program tenable in India during 2011-2012 academic year. The competition is open to both established and emerging Canadian scholars. Scholars who have no previous India experience may be nominated. Nominations are welcome from academics at a Shastri Indian member institution.
A Canadian scholar wishing to be nominated for this lectureship is encouraged to contact their collegues at Shastri Indian member Institutions.
The nomination process at Shastri has changed, and as per the new selection process, our Canadian Studies Centres and Indian member institutions may place a request for a desired Canadian expert or Resource Person to deliver lectures or talks on topics or subjects of interest to the academic community at their respective institution and at large. The proposed Visiting Lecturer may also help develop new course curriculum or assist in restructuring and revising the existing course content of Canadian Studies courses. In order to optimally benefit from a Visiting Lecturer’s presence in India, it is greatly encouraged for hosting institutions to connect with other nearby institutions or centres with similar academic interests to partake in benefitting from the expertise of the Visiting Lecturer.
The award includes the cost of international air travel and living expenses within India.
The preferred period of tenure is two weeks in January or February 2012.
Nominations include:
Deadline Extended to August 26th, 2011 Original Deadline August 20th, 2011
