Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute

Nominate an Indian Visiting Lecturer

This summer term, the Shastri Institute will be bringing a visiting scholar from India to Canada to lecture at several university campuses. We are planing to send the scholar to two to three campuses during a period of three weeks. We invite our Canadian member institutions to nominate scholars from India that they would like to host this year. One scholar will be chosen and the nominating institution will be guaranteed a slot in the visiting lecturer’s schedule. We can also attempt to schedule his/her visit around an event already planned at a nominating institution.

Eligibility:

Host Institution Responsibilities:

The Shastri Institute will cover the cost of the visiting scholar’s international travel and intercity transportation. Each host institution will be responsible for hospitality within their cities and will cover the cost of the scholar’s local accommodations, meals, and incidentals during the scholar’s stay on a pro-rata basis. The host institution may choose to share such costs with other institutions of close geographical proximity. Such arrangements should be made in consultation with the Shastri Institute.

Funding:

Funding for the Indian Visiting Lecturer is provided by the Government of India.
